Since October 2014 Paraguay’s most wanted man, Vilmar ‘Neneco’ Acosta Marques was arrested by Brazilian authorities in early March. Acosta is wanted in Paraguay in connection with the murder of a well-known local journalist, Pablo Medina, a case that shocked Paraguay and sparked widespread concerns about the spread of ‘narcopolitics’ [RBS-14-11].
