NICARAGUA: Alba cooperation deepens
A Venezuelan delegation paid a recent visit to Nicaragua to
“evaluate" the impact of the Alternativa Bolivariana para la América (Alba)
initiative in the country and to unveil a string of new projects. The prospect
of increased cooperation from Venezuela has not gone down well with civil
society groups and the opposition, however, who continue to flag up as a major
cause for concern, President Daniel Ortega's persistent refusal to include the
funds in the state budget.
