Drop in unaccompanied illegal Central American minors to US

Two new reports from US organisations suggest that the number of unaccompanied Central American minors seeking to illegally enter the US has fallen significantly since last year’s humanitarian crisis [RC-14-08]. While the drop in numbers is encouraging for all countries involved, experts warn that this does not mean the root causes that led to last year’s crisis have been fully addressed.
