This is how the Organization of American States (OAS) has described Haiti’s second round legislative elections, first round presidential election and municipal elections that took place on 25 October. Unlike the 9 August first round of legislative elections (for two-thirds of the 30-seat national senate and the newly expanded 118-seat lower chamber of congress), concerns regarding electoral violence ultimately failed to materialise.
