The Uruguayan authorities have seized 2.75 tonnes (t) of marijuana in the first six months of 2016. This is more than the 2.52t seized between March 2015 (when President Tabaré Vázquez assumed office for second time) and December 2015, and new record-high figure. The move is part of the government’s plans to control marijuana production and distribution in the country following its full legalisation in 2014.End of preview - This article contains approximately 703 words.
