US-Mexico reaffirm customs cooperation

Chile: On 13 October Chile’s defence ministry issued a press release stating that Defence Minister José Antonio Gómez had signed a research, development, testing, and evaluation agreement with his US counterpart, Ashton Carter, that will expand cooperation between the two countries on defence technology. Chile's defence ministry press release described the agreement as an “important step” in the development of defence cooperation with the US. It was signed on the side-lines of the 12th Conference of Defence Ministers of the Americas (XII CDMA) which took place in Trinidad & Tobago on 10-12 October. A US Department of Defence (DoD) press release notes that the two officials also discussed the US-Chile defence relationship and security issues including peacekeeping, humanitarian assistance and disaster response, and defence technology
