Candidates file challenges to Haiti election results

Development: On 2 December, the three leading defeated presidential candidates in Haiti’s 20 November elections presented formal appeals against the preliminary results announced by the provisional electoral council (CEP), which give Jovenel Moïse of Parti Haïtien Tèt Kale (PHTK) an outright winning share of 55.67% of the vote (above the 50%+1 of the vote necessary to avoid a second round run-off).
