Ecuador’s national electoral council (CNE) officially declared Lenín Moreno of the ruling left-wing Alianza País (AP) the winner of the presidential run-off race on 2 April. Moreno pipped his conservative rival Guillermo Lasso of the centre-right Movimiento Creo by 51.15% to 48.85% of the valid vote.
