Coming out of recession. The domestic economy registered 0.3% year-on-year growth in the first quarter of the year, and 1.1% growth compared with the final quarter of 2016, Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) reported on 21 June. These results break the trend of three consecutive quarters of negative year-on-year growth and technically mean that Argentina’s economy is no longer in recession but is now undergoing a tentative recovery after posting three consecutive quarter-on-quarter positive GDP growth results.
