Mexico: Appealing to the International Criminal Court

With just under a year to run before the next presidential elections, the government of President Enrique Peña Nieto is widely regarded as having a poor record on human rights and the rule of law. In terms of its international image, the last thing it needs right now is a high profile case going before the International Criminal Court (ICC) based in The Hague. But that is what may be in store, as human rights groups focus on alleged crimes against humanity in the state of Coahuila.
