* A supreme court (STF) justice has opened an investigation into José Serra, a senator of the centre-right Partido da Social Democracia Brasileira (PSDB) party. The senator is suspected of accepting illegal campaign funds from meatpacking company JBS, according to a complaint filed by the attorney general’s office (PGR).
