In brief: Brazil

* Representatives from LatAm Airlines and American Airlines jointly pledged to invest around R$450m (US$142m) to develop Guarulhos international airport  that services the city of São Paulo during a meeting with President Michel Temer. Brazilian-Chilean company LatAm Airlines will pay R$130m (US$41m) for a new maintenance centre to service its aeroplanes. For its part US firm, American Airlines, will invest US$100m to build its first aircraft hangar outside of the United States. Guarulhos is Brazil’s busiest airport, with more than 35.5m passengers in 2016.
