Chile: Chile’s finance and labour ministers, Nicolás Eyzaguirre and Alejandra Krauss respectively, have held the first meeting with unionists led by the Mesa del Sector Público (MSP), which comprises some 15 unions, including the Central Unitaria de Trabajadores (CUT), over minimum wage increases. According to a finance ministry press release, the next meeting is due to take place on 31 October. The MSP, which presented the Nueva Mayoría coalition government led by President Michelle Bachelet with a list of demands in August, is reportedly calling for a 6% minimum wage increase.
