Argentina: The Argentine confederation of medium-sized firms (Came) has released a new report showing that sales of its members increased by 1.6% year-on-year in October, the first monthly increase in sales reported by the sector in 21 months. The increase in sales reported by Came suggests that, after two years of falling levels of activity, domestic consumption is starting to pick up in Argentina in line with increasing levels of economic activity and rising employment. According to the Came report, the sectors which registered the highest increases in year-on-year sales in October were the construction materials sector (4.2%), pharmacies (3.6%), food & drinks (2.9%), and ironmongers (2.7%).
