* Antitrust agency heads of Mexico, Canada, and the US have met at the US Department of Justice in Washington DC to discuss antitrust enforcement and cooperation among the three countries. According to a press release issued by the US Justice Department’s Office of Public Affairs, the meeting was attended by Alejandra Palacios, the president of Mexico’s federal economic competition commission; Assistant Attorney General Makan Delrahim of the US Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division; Acting Chairman Maureen Ohlhausen of the US Federal Trade Commission; and Canadian Commissioner of Competition John Pecman. The press release by the US Justice Department notes that the meeting was due to address “a wide range of topics including developments and priorities, antitrust and the digital economy, and future opportunities for cooperation and convergence on sound antitrust principles”.
