In brief: Brazil

* Brazil’s international migration observatory (OBMigra), a local think-tank, has found that 94,000 foreigners immigrated to Brazil in 2016, down 23% from the 122,000 registered in 2014. The drop in immigration is seen as a consequence of Brazil’s economic and political crisis. The OBMigra report also found that Haitians are the biggest group of immigrants coming to Brazil, followed by Bolivians.
