Argentine politicians give the impression that they are choosing which 'boat' to stay on; their short-term political survival depends on remaining on the 'boat' that 'floats' and avoiding the one that 'sinks'. The contradictions within the ruling Frente para la Victoria (FPV) are growing, expanding beyond this faction of the Partido Justicialista (PJ, Peronist) to include political actors ostensibly belonging to the FPV's opposition within the PJ and affecting some members of the non-Peronist opposition too.
