Argentina: According to local media, Argentina’s Finance Minister Nicolás Dujovne told a parliamentary commission that the country will need to borrow US$8bn in 2019, in addition to the US$50bn it has already agreed to borrow from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) over the next three years. In the face of questions from legislators opposed to the deal, Dujovne claimed that the move will replace “expensive and volatile” market debt with “stable and cheaper” debt from the IMF.
