“A monologue not a dialogue.” This was one of the reasons given by the traditional opposition Partido Liberal (PL) for its decision to suspend participation in the talks brokered by the United Nations (UN), which began at the end of August, aimed at addressing the post-electoral crisis in Honduras. Specifically, the PL accused President Juan Orlando Hernández’s Partido Nacional (PN) of a lack of political will to talk about the crisis, which stems from claims by the November 2017 presidential opposition candidate Salvador Nasralla that widespread fraud took place.
