In brief: Uruguay

* The Uruguayan national milk institute (Inale) reported that exports of dairy products increased by 19% in January-October 2018 compared to the same period last year, generating US$559.3m in income. This is due to an important increase in exports of full-fat powdered milk and butter. Algeria has reportedly overtaken Brazil as the principal destination of Uruguayan dairy products, with 32% of overall dairy exports destined to Algeria and 21% to Brazil.
