* Brazil’s national association of automotive manufacturers (Anfavea) has registered an increase in the production and sales of vehicles in 2018. The production of automotive vehicles increased by 6.7% compared to 2017, totalling 2.89m units, while sales increased by 14.6% to total of 2.56m units. Within this, however, exports fell by 17.9%. Antonio Megale, president of Anfavea, notes that a strong internal market has driven the overall positive results, and that exports have been negatively affected by the economic contraction in Argentina, the principal destination for Brazilian vehicles.
