* Mexico’s communications & transport minister, Javier Jiménez Espriú, has said that the federal budget for the sector for the next six years will be higher than M$600bn (US$31bn), underlining that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who took office in December 2018, has “a very clear idea of stimulating participation” from the private sector. Jiménez said that for 2019 M$70bn has been earmarked for various programmes – to develop roads, ports, airports, railways, and telecommunications.
