* Argentina’s finance ministry has published the fiscal results for January 2019, revealing that the country’s achieved a primary fiscal surplus of Ar$16.658bn (US$420m), up 324% in relation to the same month of 2018. According to a finance ministry press release, total public resources grew 38.7% year-on-year, six percentage points higher than primary government spending, which grew 33%. Due to a rise in the exchange rate and changes in the monthly debt service profile, the financial deficit grew 131.9%, to reach Ar$60.038bn with interest growth of 157.2%.
