In brief: Mexico

* Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) has released new figures which shows that the country’s current account balance in 2018 was a US$22.18bn deficit – equivalent to 1.8% of GDP. This is an increase on the US$19.4bn current account deficit registered in 2017 which was equivalent to 1.7% of GDP.
