* Bolivia’s hydrocarbons minister,
Luis Alberto Sánchez, has told reporters that, at the current pace of exploring hydrocarbons reserves, Bolivia’s gas reserves could double from 10.7trn cubic feet (TCF) to 20 TCF by 2025.
Sánchez said that if this was the case Bolivia would be able to supply the domestic and export markets for at least 30 years. He made the announcement in reference to the discovery announced on 22 March of new gas deposits in the Boyuy well, Tarija department.
Sánchez said that this year 26 exploratory wells were expected to be drilled in 23 areas, including in the departments of Beni, Pando, La Paz, and Cochabamba.
