MEXICO: CNTE makes life difficult for López Obrador gov’t

On 26 March, Mexico’s federal chamber of deputies was forced to cancel for a second time a session in which it was due to vote on the changes that the government led by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has proposed to make to the 2012-2013 education reform after the Coordinadora Nacional de Trabajadores de la Educación (CNTE) teachers’ union staged a sit-in protest and blocked all access to the congress building.
