* Panama’s President Juan Carlos Varela announced that China has approved the first customs code for the export of beef, marking an important step forward for the “PanamáExporta” brand. Eduardo Enrique Carles, Panama’s minister for agricultural development, has called it an “historic day”, tweeting “today, our country’s brand arrives in the world’s biggest market, a powerful step forward which opens great new possibilities for the agricultural sector in Panama”. In addition to beef, pineapples and cobia fish have been approved by China for export.
