In brief: Paraguay

* According to the latest figures from Paraguay’s central bank (BCP), the country’s exports in the first five months of 2019 reached US$5.5bn, down 9.5% on the same period in 2018. Meanwhile imports over the same period reached US$4.79bn, 6.8% less than the same period in 2018. This has left a US$681m trade surplus, US$227.6m less than the amount registered in the same period in 2018.
