* Brazil’s national statistics institute (Ibge) has released the latest figures for unemployment, which show that unemployment remained stable in the quarter to May 2019 compared with the previous rolling quarter. The unemployment rate for March-May 2019 was 12.3%, down from 12.4% in December 2018-February 2019, affecting 13m people. The underemployment rate has increased slightly to 25% (up from 24.6%), with 28.5m people classed as underemployed, the highest number recorded since 2012.
