GUATEMALA: Gov’t backtracks on purchase of planes
On 11 July Guatemala’s defence ministry (Mindef) announced it would heed the recommendation from the comptroller general’s office (CGC) and not proceed with the purchase of two Pampa III military planes from Argentina’s state-run aircraft manufacturing company Fábrica Argentina de Aviones (Fadea) for US$28m.
