Richard Martínez have signed off on four loans amounting to US$631m for Ecuador to improve water and sanitation services, energy, social housing, and strengthen the country’s fiscal stability. The signing took place during the annual meeting between the board of governors from the IDB and IDB Invest, held in Guayaquil, the capital of the coastal province of Guayas. The funding for these loans will come from IDB’s capital, with an interest rate calculated by the London Inter-Bank Offered Rate (Libor).
