* The Argentine government has launched a public tender to design and build the fourth gas pipeline for Vaca Muerta, a hydrocarbons deposit in Patagonia. The first stages of construction are to be completed by the winter of 2021, which will allow for imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) to be replaced by domestic production, saving approximately US$240m annually. Initially, the pipeline will extend for approximately 570km, from the Neuquén basin in northern Patagonia to the town to Salliqueló, in the province of Buenos Aires. The second stage will extend the pipeline for a further 470km, to the town of San Nicolás, also in the province of Buenos Aires.
