* Chile’s finance minister,
Felipe Larraín, has announced a fiscal stimulus package for the second half of 2019 and for 2020 totalling US$571m in a bid to try to stimulate domestic economic activity. The Chilean government has committed US$355m in additional government investment for this year and US$216m for 2020. The ministries of housing and urbanism, public works, health, and agriculture will respectively receive US$218m, US$150m, US$26, and US$63, while regional governments will receive US$114m. Investment will be focused on infrastructure, housing, entrepreneurship and productivity, medical equipment, and irrigation.
