* The governments of Guatemala and Israel have concluded the first round of talks to implement a partial trade agreement aimed at boosting bilateral trade, with 85% of the document to be signed now agreed. According to
Julio Dougherty, Guatemala's deputy minister for foreign trade & integration, Guatemala has requested that the agreement cover 167 products for export, while Israel has requested around 580 products to be covered. According to statistics from Guatemala’s central bank (Banguat), last year Guatemala’s exports to Israel totalled US$13.25m, while imports from Israel exceeded US$23.17m.
