In brief: Mexico’s economic activity down -0.4% in August

* The latest figures from Mexico's national statistics institute (Inegi) for its indicator of global economic activity (Igae) show that it contracted  by 0.4% in August 2019 compared with the same month in 2018. The same figures show primary sector activity was up 0.9% year-on-year, while the secondary and tertiary sectors contracted by -1% and by -0.1% respectively. In July 2019 Igae contracted by -0.6% compared with July 2018.
