In brief: Chile’s 12-month inflation reaches 2.7% in November

* According to Chile’s national statistics institute (INE) monthly inflation in November was 0.1%, bringing the 12-month rate to 2.7%. In its most recent monetary policy report (Ipom) Chile’s central bank (BCCh) forecast inflation would close at 3.4% in 2019. The latest inflation figures come amid the worst protests to hit the country since Chile’s return to democracy in 1990 which have had a significant impact on economic growth although these were not mentioned by the INE in its statement accompanying the release of inflation figures.
