* In the latest survey by Mexico’s central bank (Banxico), private sector experts have revised down their forecast for Mexico’s GDP for 2019 to 0.03%, down from 0.04% in the previous November forecast. However, the same survey revises up the GDP forecast for 2020 to 1.10% from 1.08% in December. In November, Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) revealed that its revised economy data showed that GDP contracted by 0.1% in the fourth quarter of 2018 and in the first and second quarters of 2019, while growth in the third quarter was flat (0%).
