In brief: Costa Rica’s IMAE up 2.5% in October year-on-year

* Costa Rica’s central bank (BCCR) has published its latest monthly economic activity index (IMAE) for October 2019 which showed a 2.5% increase, year-on-year, the highest of the last 14 months. The latest (November 2019) forecast from the United Nations (UN) Economic Commission for Latin America & the Caribbean (Eclac) forecast Costa Rica’s GDP will grow 1.8% in 2019, below the 2.5% average for Central America.
