In brief: Argentina to award bonus to pensioners
* President Alberto Fernández has announced that those on the minimum pension rate - currently Ar$14,068 (approx. US$235) - will take home a further Ar$5,000 per month in December and January, adding to the 8.74% raise already scheduled for December which was published by the previous administration on 8 November. Pensioners have been amongst the hardest hit by an inflation rate averaging over 50% since April, and they were consequently a feature in Fernández’s election campaign.
