Alberto Fernández is seeking to renegotiate Argentina’s foreign debt. At present, Argentine law does not require international funds to provide details regarding their clients, and the Agente de Información will have to get in contact with these funds to identify all holders of Argentine bonds. According to the latest official data published at the end of the first half of 2019, Argentina’s total public debt stood at US$337.27bn of which just under 50% is external. The deadline for interested firms to apply is 13 January.
