2019 trade balance battered by global difficulties. On 2 January, the secretariat for foreign trade and international affairs (Secint) in Brazil’s economy ministry released the annual figures for the country’s 2019 trade balance. The result is disappointing, with trade flows totalling US$401.36bn and the trade surplus standing at US$46.67bn – a 20.5% decrease on the 2018 result, and the smallest trade surplus that Brazil has registered since 2015.
