*Mexico’s national hydrocarbons commission (CNH) has authorised three hydrocarbon exploration projects proposed by the state-owned oil company, Pemex. The projects envisage an initial investment of US$195m which could rise to US$496m and will be developed in Mexico’s richest oil region, the Cuencas del Sureste basin located in the Gulf of Mexico off the shores of the states Tabasco and Campeche. The three projects, which cover a land area of 2,813km
2, will focus on prospect drilling, evaluating oil potential and analysing seismic data.
