Jair Bolsonaro has sanctioned the 2020 national budget which
was approved by congress last December. According to De Oliveira Francisco, Bolsonaro has approved the budget in its entirety without vetoing any aspect (although last week he did
increase the minimum wage in line with new inflation figures). Brazil’s national budget is set at R$3.69trn (US$885bn) for 2020, with a primary fiscal deficit target of R$124.1bn.
