* Peru’s national statistics institute (Inei) has reported that the country’s economy grew by just 2.16% in 2019, down from 3.99% in 2018, marking Peru’s lowest annual growth since 2009. María Antonieta Alva had previously
cited regional economic uncertainty as a contributing factor, and predicted growth would return to 4% in 2020.
