PERU | Growth streak ends. After 127 months of continuous growth, Peru’s economy contracted in March, with GDP plunging by 16.3% year-on-year as a result of the lockdown imposed by the government led by President Martín Vizcarra to contain the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19). The agriculture sector slumped by 15.2%, the manufacturing sector plummeted by 36.4%, and the service sector declined by 9.2%.
