The United Nations (UN) World Food Programme (WFP) and Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) are among various international bodies warning of a risk of a “hunger pandemic”, citing fears that the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic could almost double acute hunger by 2020.
