* Bolivia’s national statistics institute (Inei) has reported that national exports fell by 23.9% year-on-year between January and May, totalling just US$2.6bn, compared with the US$3.4bn recorded in the same period in 2019. Inei attributed the fall to the effects of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, reducing exports in key sectors such as minerals (down 47.2%), hydrocarbons (down 13.5%), and agriculture (down 10.7%). Imports fell even more dramatically, totalling US$2.7bn in the first five months of the year, down from US$4.1bn in 2019.
