ARGENTINA: Fernández takes firm action to halt virus spread

A full 100 days since declaring a lockdown in Argentina while witnessing the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic ravage Europe, President Alberto Fernández made a concerted effort to contain the virus in the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires (Amba) before it gets out of control. The unspoken admonition was that failure to abide by the restrictions now could see the capital city and its environs go the way of major cities in neighbouring countries.
