In brief: Tax take down in Colombia

* Colombia’s national tax authority (Dian) has reported that tax take was down 13.5% year-on-year in June, totalling Col$12.2trn (US$3.4bn). However, Dian reported that this figure exceeded the revised monthly target of Col$10.4trn, which takes into account the impact of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic – this suggests that the country’s economic recovery may be proceeding faster than expected. In the first six months of 2020, tax take totalled Col$77.8trn, down 5.2% year-on-year.
