PERU | Economy in dire straits. Economic projections for Peru remain bleak, with the latest report from the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (Eclac) forecasting that the country’s economy could decline by 13% in 2020 as a result of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, second only to Venezuela in the Western Hemisphere.
